The "Naughty" bike riders

Ask anyone, what is your first vehicle? More than 95% of the people say it is 2-wheeler. The two wheeler is the most affordable vehicle in India. Starting from the lower class to upper class sections everyone has a two wheeler. The only difference is the range of the two wheeler. The terminology used to describe a two-wheeler is bike. As it is affordable vehicle we expect it to occupy most of the road space. The same two wheeler is used to carry you, your family members, friends and your beloved ones. The same two wheeler is a big headache sometimes in heavy traffic zones. As it can easily pass by within a small space it always has the advantage of reaching the destination more quickly than any other mode. so, it is preferred as the mode of transport starting from students to professionals at various levels.

The nuisance that this two wheeler creates on a heavy zone when felt irritates everyone. To give an example, it is a heavy traffic zone in major city of India and railway under bridge is a major bottle neck in that traffic zone. It was a time where people are out of offices, business are on a back track to their homes after hectic day. In such a situation, you can expect the extent of traffic. In that situation, near that railway under bridge there was a small jam which got extended and this turned into a major jam within minutes. In this scenario, and in the absence of traffic police at that moment, what should anyone do is follow lane discipline and let opposite vehicles pass by. But this two wheeler guys just occupied the space around and never allowed opposite vehicles pass by. It may be in the urge to go home but the common sense that should prevail in that moment just missed out. As a result of their path block, the traffic just extended beyond limits and vehicle sequence went up to 2-3 kilometers. You can imagine the feelings of drivers inside respective heavy vehicles.

The above mentioned example was just a drop in the ocean. There are many cases of speeding two wheeler crashing into opposite vehicles, speeding two wheeler sliding and drivers injured, students ending lives on highways, students ending lives with bike races, what to say there are endless cases of two wheeler. On city roads, the situation are more worse where biker tries to peep into the minute of spaces causing trouble to heavy vehicles. Sometimes the rash driving causes minor damages to heavy vehicles.

We always talk of dangers of heavy vehicles but the actual hidden dangers of two wheeler are less talked. Especially, on city roads two wheeler is a biggest headache to the heavy vehicles. The wrong side driving cases, triple riding, speeding two wheeler are some other cases. The drivers of these so called two wheeler aka bikes are educated and can understand the consequences of their driving and not following traffic rules. But once they get onto their bike it seems all their education and wisdom are lost. The lesser the age group the more this wisdom is lost. Everyone understand that it is the wish of a driver to drive as he likes but his liking, will and all should not cause inconvenience to others. If one can pause and think for few minutes, all the urgency will go off and it eliminates traffic problems on heavy traffic zones.
