Did you Know?

Despite their icy appearance, igloos are actually quite warm inside. The compacted snow blocks that make up an igloo create a structure with excellent insulation properties. The curved shape of the igloo helps to distribute weight evenly, preventing collapse, and the thick walls trap heat inside, keeping the interior temperature much warmer than the frigid outside temperatures. In fact, the temperature inside an igloo can be as much as 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than outside!
