I travelled to a company in our city for some official discussion on one day. I was accompanied by colleague and we both booked an UBER cab. Soon after boarding the cab we were into technical and managerial level discussions. As we were working for a MNC, we tried to exaggerate the discussion so that the cab guy will know what we were earning and the facilities we have and we enjoy as a part of MNC. We had to travel for around one and hour to reach the place where we had a meeting. For at least one hour, myself and my colleague boasted ourselves on our achievements and many other things. Just to poke the cab guy, I started on a low tone asking him the troubles cab guys face regularly. I started adding more about the traffic problems, low earnings, family problems, etc. Suddenly, the cab guy interrupted me and started speaking in posh English language and hearing his language I was shell shocked. He continued in an authoritative manner saying, sir, "I am the owner of this car", I work as financial planner for a big MNC and as a part time I rent cabs to drivers. Today, one of my driver is absent and I didn't have any other option. We were speechless and then on we didn't speak anything and felt ashamed of what we spoke before.
After the ride was over, myself and colleague were discussing among ourselves on how people these days are stretching themselves to earn money. For example, this guy who has come as a driver for our side is working as a financial advisor and is earning handsome money. Still, he wanted to earn more. We felt that we haven't been able to one job properly but the guy we met was investing his free time to earn more. It is very difficult to manage more than one job for anyone. we couldn't stop to admire this guy's hard work.
