Ashwin becomes the fastest bowler to take 300 test wickets. The previous record was held by Dennis Lillie from Australia who completed the 300 wickets in 56 matches. Ashwin completed in 54 matches. Lankan tailender Lahiru Gamage is his 300th wicket.
