Daily we read of increasing pollution in the air. We see a comparison of various cities. This induces some kind of fear among normal human being. Except that fear, what else is this propaganda doing? The main reason why these kind of news/facts/figures are telecast on television are only to bring awareness among people. But how many of us take it serious? One more question comes to mind, are the people who are telecasting these things are taking this seriously. It is sure that none of us might be taking it serious. In reality, the levels of pollution are very dangerous and the situation is going out of hand.
While writing this, one thing comes to my mind. When i see an auto/motor bike or in that case any auto mobile emitting lot of smoke, i always think why doesn't someone stop him and tell him that this not good for nature, good for people and even not good for himself and his family. He might be taking it in a light manner but because of this he is putting everyone into danger.
One more case which comes to mind is days like new year, festivals. We see youth going around on bikes aimlessly. For them it is just fun and they don't care of environment. Can't we avoid this? Can't we plan for alternate ways of fun?
Take the case of some guys, who just can't live without a bike. For these guys, bike is such a luxury that they will be willing to go to a near by groceries shop by walk. Some people think like why can't a use a bike, after all it is mine and it is always my wish. But in some cases, if you think of walking for that small job, you save petrol, you walk which is healthy, you contribute to environment and many many more advantages but none thinks of this.
Take the private companies, they do conduct and participate in lot of awareness programs but they have to think of themselves how much they are encouraging employees to eliminate pollution. Are they giving special preference to guys who car pool? someone companies may already be but everyone must follow and provide special incentives to guys who car pool.
Likewise, pollution check must be done by government on every vehicle and seize vehicle when there is an issue. At the same time, provide incentives for that guy in buying a new vehicle, After all, government is to serve people. this may be burden on government but encouraging guys to take care of nature is always good. Already, the situation looks very bleak. We ourselves in urban areas are not all breathing a a fresh air. And if a person stays out for long time, no one is sure that he is safe and he may not be having breathing issues. Not to mention case about the poor traffic police.
We have to think of only thing now. how much are we contributing from our side? Are we trying to minimize the usage of personal vehicles and start using public transport often? Are we encouraging car pooling? Are we providing awareness to guys near by? Are we discussing about the hazards of air pollution with others? Are we forcing people to use environment friendly vehicles? Are we avoiding unnecessary trips on personal vehicles? Lot of questions but no answers.
