I am worried about the future

Thinking of my mother earth, I wrote this and I am worried about the future generations. Are they going to have a pollution free earth?

One day I took my daughter to a park. I watched my daughter enjoying the fresh air that was there in the park amidst greenery. I felt really happy that the colony authorities had a thought of developing such a park as the people and management these days are more worried about commercial elements rather than benefits for the people. Suddenly, my thoughts flashed across one news that I read in the internet regarding the number of deaths that occurred due to the amount of air pollution. From that moment I started thinking what could be the situation few years from now. The technology is growing at a rapid pace and is bringing with it unavoidable waste which is causing the pollution. Take for example, the amount of plastic we use in the form of water bottles, plastic bags, electronic wastage that is generated. Many non-recyclable wastes are generated on a daily basis. The amount of waste and the amount of pollution with it is causing the pollution which might make our mother earth a place full of pollution.

I was lost in my thoughts and suddenly I started fearing about the future of my daughter. I have been enjoying the climate mother earth has given me and at the same time turning it into a place where none of the living beings can survive. 20 years down the lane from now when my daughter starts to have a life of her own she might not be left with a place which was some years back a peaceful and non-polluted one. She might have to fight regularly with diseases which couldn’t be treated, she might have an air around her which she might not breather without it being filtered, she might not have water which is pure and can be drunk. These thoughts just left me feared and took my daughter close to my heart.

For few minutes all these fears occupied my mind but gave me some thoughts which can be implemented from that second which can help my daughter as well as the future generation peaceful environment. I decided to avoid using 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler for travelling within my colony. I thought of avoiding burning crackers on a Diwali. For the festivals and all, let me avoid unnecessary lighting to show off my status. Let me not waste food and avoid unnecessary wastage. Let me carry my own cloth bags when I go for shopping and avoid any plastic bags. Let me educate people around me of the consequences they are going to face if we are not going to avoid further destruction.
