Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka playing in the second test against India in Nagpur was fined 75% of the fees and 3 demerit points for the case of ball tampering. Dasun Shanka was caught on TV by match officials picking the area near the seam of the ball which comes under "changing the condition of the ball". As per ICC rules, any player who gets 4 or more demerit points in a 2 year period, has to undergo a suspension of 2 matches.
