The target was 279 on a flat track and De Cock and Amla didn't offer anything to the opposition as they created a new South African record as they scored 282 without loosing a wicket. Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga opening partnership record of 286 still remains. It would have been swept today if Bangladesh managed a better score. Now, Amla and De Cock become the best opening pair in South Africa ODI history.
