A trip to Yedupayalu & Pocharam Dam, Medak District

We have planned for a short trip around the Hyderabad and while searching for places to visit, thought of visiting Yedupayalu. Yedupayalu is in Medak District and is 3 hours drive from Hyderabad. We started at 11AM from Sangareddy and reached Yedupayalu by 2PM. The temple is mid of a forest area and you shall be amazed at the scenic beauty. As this year the rains are year for now, there isn't much water that amaze you but the calmness and freshness of the nature makes you feel that you have come to a good place. We visited Vana Durga temple and took blessing of her. We were disappointing not to see the rush of water in that area but the rocks and debree left around due to lack of water was what we have to watch.

We had a quick lunch under the trees there and then came to know from the near by people that Pocharam Dam is near by and is one of the places to visit in this weather. We finished lunch by 4PM and reached Pocharam Dam by 5PM. It was worth visiting the place and especially in the rain walking on the dam is a good experience. You see lot of fishing happening around is a best shooting place for movies. We started back at 6PM and were surprised to see lot of bus conenctivity to this place. The Pocharam Dam seems to be on the Bodhan route and we see lot of Hyderabad to Bodhan buses.

What is Yedupayalu famous for?
Vana Maha Durga temple is located here. Manjeera flows as seven streams and merge here. This is the best place to visit during rainy season as water flow is more and it touches the feet of Durga. Jatara happens here during Sivarathri.
